believe in magic. Not the stuff of Harry Potter or david blane, but the magic of emotions and nature. Magic like a first kiss is the kind of thing you’ll remember, and the kind of thing I believe in.

As I mentioned, a first kiss is true magic. it’s a special moment in one’s life, and at that point, they become more aware of the feelings of the person they’ve kissed. Unfortunately, I’ve never experienced this piece of magic, but everyone I’ve spoken to says that the longer you wait, the more special this moment becomes.

Magic doesn’t have to be in the form of a kiss. Empathy is a magical feeling in and of itself. Being able to understand how someone feels is by no means simple, though. Many people can’t operate on someone else’s frequency. Humans and animals have an easier time with this. An example of this is me and my cat. My cat was sort of like a partner to me. She could tell when I was down, and she could always cheer me up. I could always tell when she wasn’t feeling well, even when I wasn’t home. The day that she died, I could feel her in pain. She was shutting down, and she and I both wept. I had her cradled in my arms, even as she passed on. I was able to feel her pass, too. I felt her pain drain away. It’s an experience I won’t ever forget.

imagination is the most basic form of magic we can feel. the magic of creation lies within us, but it seems that the older you are, the less you can feel it. kids are always playing around, and they use their imagination extensively. they always seem to come up with creative solutions to any problem. writers also tap into this energy when they’re writing. poets combine their emotions and imagination to instill a picture into their works. novelists can take one idea and create an entire universe from it. how you determine what you’re capable of is all in how you use your imagination.

We, as humans, can access more magic than we believe we can. magic, ranging from the simplicity of imagination to the complex empathy between species, is as much a part of us as our minds and souls. I believe magic is the tie that binds, and as such it can be as powerful as you believe it is.
