Mostly, it's just poetry here that I have.

I've got chapters to an older book that I never quite wrapped up. If you like what's there, I'll finish it and taunt you with it. ;p Check one or two of them out.

As for the slow reading, I'm the same way. I'm partially dyslexic, however. Doesn't matter too much unless I try to skim things, and I'll always miss bits if I do that, regardless.

That kind of reminds me of a cross between the fourth and fifth "books" in TGotM and the plot in Armageddon 9 (the second part to TAo9T).

How many main stories do you have? I only have a small handful because though I can write I'm not particularity creative, so my writing tends to be a lot like my art: neat, but too similar to one another for my own taste. I envy people like Stephen King who can think of a million plots that seem totally different.

If you're into that sort of Armageddon thing you'll probably like this book I've just started reading. It's called Good Omens and it's by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I'm only about a fourth of the way through it, but it's the funniest thing I've ever read. No doubt about it.

That's another thing. I'm a really slow reader. It's really annoying. :shakefist:

Do you have any short writing bits here on DA that you're particularly proud of? Like short stories that are only a few chapters long and are finished? I generally don't browse lit deviations unless I've read something by the same person that I liked, so I generally like to start with the author's personal favorite.

Don't worry so much. I'm not THAT evil, and the most I'd do is use people as furniture. Artwork is so expensive, and EVERYONE has paintings. No one has humans as artwork. *shrug* Why not?

And today just dumped a massive load on the negative side of the balance. ~_~

Vampires, lycanthropes, and Hunters. They and their underlings all have to put aside their differences to stop an entire section of Hell itself from overlapping with the mortal plane, releasing all kinds of hellions on the mortal populace and wrecking total havoc.

That's just the concept, too. ;p Wait until I put up the sampler in June. *laughs evilly*

As for your stories, I'm of the patient variety. I also have 50 literature pieces to sift through from my friends on dA alone! ^^; Still...

Looking forward to both your story and your friendship. ^_^

Ah, I had a feeling. ^^

Elaboration on the book is kind of hard. ^^; I've been working on it for about four and a half years. It started as a short-story project in school and I just kept working on it. It's taking a long time because before that I had never written anything for fun, so as I get better I keep having to revamp parts of it. I've totally rewritten the whole thing several times now and right now I'm working on what will hopefully be the final big edit (which will thankfully only rework the last third or so of the story, but keep the plot the same). In it there are a handful of main characters, but the story was originally just from Zoë's POV and she's still basically the MAIN main character. The whole plot/eventual disaster revolves around her. I don't like trying to explain the story line because it sounds kind of cheesy that way, but it's one of those things where something that the parents went through affects what's going on in the time of the story. Three groups basically try to get Zoë to join them: the vampire hunters (because her dad is a successful hunter, which will make her a prime target of the vampires if she can't defend herself), a strong vampire clan (because they know she's going to be trained as a hunter and want to use her to spy on them), and an individual vampire (who is just trying to keep a promise by keeping her safe). The hunters are oblivious to the vampire and the clan, while the clan is oblivious to the vampire but know full well about the hunters, and the vampire is oblivious to the clan and is trying to keep her away from the hunters. It's sort of a tug-o-war situation of them trying to get her to join them, which gets really overwhelming since she's only 17. As if that wasn't bad enough, there are also a lot of family issues going on at the same time (like having to deal with the fact that her dad isn't actually her biological father and also seems to be suffering from pent-up rage towards her real father as is sort of going crazy because of it) while they're more or less stuck together in a cabin in the snow. And just to make things even more complicated, she ends up being Turned into a vampire. Fun, huh? Anyway, the story is called Just Desserts. I hope it's not too strange to be published when I finish it. I don't think the story is particularity good because it's kind of slow for like the whole first half, but everyone who has read the latest rough draft seems to really like it. Apparently the suspense and who's-with-who keeps it interesting. I've read it too many times brokenly to really know what it's like anymore.

Links? To the story? No, I'd never post anything for it online besides art. I've got some character drawings, but they're not as good as I'd like them to be. I plan on working on them some more when I get some time.

But a few years ago when I was playing an RPG (where I met Insanity, actually, because it was a vampire-vs.-werewolf game) I used Zoë as my character, but ended up changing the character to fit the game. But I couldn't change the name because of the game. So I started making this new character who was also named Zoë (she's a vampire too, obviously). I started writing a character description for her which ended up turning into a whole new story. I have that one here on DA because I was just goofing around when I did it and didn't expect it to be so long. That one's called The Game of the Monsters and it's fun even though it's not exactly my best work. Here's a link to the home-page: [link] The two Zoës have totally different personalities, but they still have the same name and the same basic hair and eyes. If I work on TGotM seriously some day I'll change that Zoë a tiny bit. Unfortunately because of TGotM and my other DA story TAo9T I haven't spent much time at all on JD lately. I wish I had more time to write and draw. Almost all of my stories are neglected because I haven't been working on them thanks to TGotM and TAo9T. I hope to work on TGotM and get it published as a series of short stories (because it's currently in six parts, which are each only 13 chapters long) but I think it's going to take a lot of reworking. I don't plan on doing much with TAo9T, but you never know. If I work on it a lot it might be worth trying to publish. TAo9T is just a "fuck around" story, if you know what I mean and will excuse my French. That was another meant-to-be-short character-description-story that ended up being much longer than I wanted. I'm actually kind of sick of working on TAo9T, but I've still got a few chapters to go and sort of need to finish it so that my readers won't get mad at me. ^^;

I'm guessing your story is about vampires? :giggle:

Meh. Better and worse, just depends on the aspect of my life in question.

Oh, and I've made an alliance with the Mangos. If I aid them, they give me free reign to give a wedgie (or whatever) to whomever I like after they've taken control.

Wolf's actually the lycan I hang out with, and the link I followed to you.

You're writing a book, you say? Care to elaborate?

Got any links, possibly?

I'm writting a book, too. I'll only post a sample of it, though. I intend to actually publish this one in its entirety. ;p Maybe I'll succeed one day.

Oh, cool. Which friend?

lol my fursona might be a wolf, but I'm far more fond of vampires than werewolves. I've been into vampires ever since I was little, but never got into wolves till I met ~InsanityWolf here on DA. Zoë is the name of my main vampire character in a story I'm writing and 1975 is the year my favorite vampire book ('Salem's Lot by Stephen King) was published. I've sorta taken on a "wolf side of me," but if I had the choice I'd pick vampire without hesitation.

...actually, my fursona was originally a griffin, but I drew her more often as a wolf because of Insanity.
